Ibiza News 2019 #1 // Movers & Shakers

As with everything in Ibiza nothing stays completely the same, it's part of the islands natural evolving rhythm I guess, which also keeps it fresh and relevant year after year.

2019 welcomes some new nights to the island plus there are a few shake ups with nights switching clubs, here’s the highlights of what we know so far;-

The Movers:

Music On leaves Amnesia and moves to Pacha & Destino

Well we didn’t see this one coming!  One of the most surprising changes this year will be the departure of Music On from Amnesia  to Pacha and Destino.

"My new project, my new experience..." - Marco Carola announced his move from Amnesia last month.

Techno stalwart Marco will be taking his Thursday night to Pacha which will also involve some dates at Destino which may mean we get to indulge in some day to night tech parties – fingers crossed!

Cocoon Returns to Amnesia

Papa Sven confirmed the highly anticipated news that Cocoon’s 20th Anniversary year will see the Cocoon institution move back to Amnesia for 2019

This is awesome news for the techno night and it’s fans as the night moves back to it’s clubbing roots. The night will take up it’s Monday night slot again, lines ups are tbc but one thing’s that is for certain - Sven and his techno tribe will kick the season off with a monumental roof raising party! Definitely not to be missed!

Line ups will include the best that underground techno has to offer, hold tight this will be one hell of a season for Cocoon! See you there!

Toolroom Takes over Sundays at Eden

Following a hugely successful 2018 where the label marked it’s 15th Anniversary by celebrating with a massive album and world tour, Mark Knight brings Toolroom back to Ibiza this time with it’s own weekly residency. Line ups still to be announced but expect the usual global house and techno names, along with fresh new talent as well as Mark Knight himself.

A welcome new addition to San An and a night out that won’t break the bank. We wish Toolroom a very successful first season at Eden!

If Old Skool  / Classic House is your bag:

Clockwork Orange Weekend Mayhem Returns 18th to 22nd July

Hold on to your traffic cones the Orange Army will be in town! A full on weekend that will be tickling those nostalgic house taste buds all the way to Whips! Danny Clockwork and his team will be hosting a number of parties with the creme de la creme of classic house dj's lined up over 4 days - more that enough to delight the clockwork fans that come out to this event year after year.

If you like the sound of this then check out Clock Stock Festival, Danny has surpassed himself with Clockwork’s first UK festival with a crazy line up!! It would be quicker and easier to say who wasn’t playing!

The Shakers:

Elrow returns to Amnesia

Since the closure of Space the kaleidoscopic parties moved to Amnesia, the night has carried on it’s legendary success every Saturday night so it’s no surprise that it will return to Amnesia again this year. If you have never been to an Elrow party then all can say is that your eyes have not been opened! Elrow will drag you into it’s wonderful chaos I recall last time I left an Elrow gig my iPhone clocked up over 26km!

This is one of the islands hottest nights and sells out regularly so if you’re planning on going, get your tickets early. www.elrow.com/en/events/upcoming

The Ants Colony will be back as Ushuaia for it’s 7th Year

If you’re planning a trip to Ushuaia then you will be hard pushed to beat the Ants day party. Held every Saturday Ants has gone from strength to strength over the last 6 years and is now know to be one of the best open air parties the island has to offer. The Colony will run over 18 week is  the idealistic plush poolside setting with it’s festival stage and impressive sound system. The Ants experience transitions from day time pool party to the spectacular evening sets. A winning club experience that is proving popular across all club fans.

The high standard of DJ’s are also a big draw, you won’t go wrong with Ants but you might leave with 6 legs!!

Solomun +1 @ Pacha on Sundays Return

Sundays wouldn’t be the same without Solumun +1 at Pacha. Thankfully we don’t need to contemplate that! The melodic house night is back for another summer residency at Pacha from 26th May until 13th October.

The quality of these nights are second to none, the carefully curated line up schedule will continue it’s three part format with Solomun and one guest playing solo followed by back to back sets. The result is an unrivaled immersive melodic house experience with an atmosphere to match so is unsurprising that it is one of the best nights on the island that attracts the most dedicated club fans along and new comers alike.

Glitterbox returns to Hi again but on Sundays

The flamboyant and shiny disco odyssey moves from its Friday slot to a new home on Sundays. Opening Party is on 26th May and runs through for 20 weeks to 6th Oct making 2019 it’s longest Ibiza season to date.

Clearly Ibiza can’t get enough of Glitterbox and long may this remain!

After an incredible season last year where it saw an 80% increase in attendance the night will move to Fridays which will be sure to please it’s loyal following.

Defected is now in it’s second decade of spreading it’s love of house music and 2019 will see another 20 glorious nights with line ups that will be sure to entertain the San An crown as well as tempt the Bossa crew over to the other side of the Isle.
