Ibiza News 2019 #2 // Our Top Ten Places to Stay

Following our first Ibiza blog last month we’re back with a heap more useful tips, this time we’ve selected our favourite places to stay on the island. So if you’re planning a short trip or spending a few weeks on the White Isle we have it covered!
You won’t find many of the big commercial hotels on this list, if that’s your bag then check out booking.com (other holiday search engines are available 😉) We prefer things a little less obvious, so we’re sharing some little gems of our Ibiza stays spanning 25 years (and counting).
The key things we value from our stays are comfortable beds, good food, positive vibes, great service and awesome views!
We’ve provided the direct hotel links - how you book is up to you, just make sure you do!!
💛
Kicking off with two of the golden oldies, these hotels have been on the block for a number of years and there’s a very good reason for that...

#1 Pikes (pronounced pee-kays) – nr San Antonio

If you want to find the thumping heart of Ibiza then you will find it here. Be prepared for an eclectic mix of Ibiza nostalgia, rock and roll history and eccentric décor mixed together with great customer service and cheeky artwork collected by Tony Pike himself. There so much we could say about this hotel but instead of banging on we suggest you go see what all the fuss is about for yourself!
We highly recommend reading Tony Pike's biography which gives a glimpse of some of the hedonistic nights that hotel has played host to - if walls could talk!! Some of the specialties at Pikes include: Bathtub Karaoke, Sunny's Dress-up Room, Halloween, Freddie Rocks parties, and a whole lot more! Goes without saying this hotel is adults only!
Once you have experienced Pikes you will probably look at the world in a slightly different wonky way! We love it! Where else can you find a giant roller-skate?
Like they say; “you can check in but you can never check out!”
TIP! Catch DJ Harvey playing on Mondays - Mercury Rising (late summer) oh and the Pikes on Sunday roasts are definitely something to write home about!

💛💛💛

#2 Hostel la Torre - Cap Negret

Located on a beautiful beach in natural surroundings at Cap Negrat just around the next bay to San Antonio and a stones throw away from the hustle and bustle, you certainly get the best of both worlds here, relaxing vibes, great service, decent massages, comfy beds, water sports - the list goes on! We should also mention the food is awesome too especially coupled with
THAT VIEW!!
Open all year round with front row seats for arguably the best sunset view on the island!

💛💛💛

#3 Wi-ki Woo – San Antonio

We’ve also thrown in a couple of new swanky boutique hotels that are really raising the bar in uber-cool décor and service! We can’t get enough of the slick pastel retro décor at Wi-ki Woo! A small but perfectly formed adult only boutique hotel situated just around the bay from Café Mambo. The rooms look spectacular and finished to a really high standard, lots of unique spaces to enjoy - what’s not to like?! We can't wait to check this place out this summer!

💛💛💛

#4 Cubanito – Cala Gracio (nr San An)

An uber cool little boutique hotel with Little Havana-esque styling! The retro feel is definitely back in as this hotel makes the most of it’s old school Latin influences making a nice change for those looking for something a little different to the general Ibiza chilled vibe. Check out the awesome rooftop bar - amazing views over San An with pretty impressive service too! Not far from the lovely Cala Gracio beach this place is ticking a lot of boxes! Perfect if you fancy a cigar and a proper mojito!!

💛💛💛

#5 Destino Pacha Resort – nr Talamanca

OK, so this is a slightly larger hotel but as one of our favourite pre - party venues we felt we had to squeeze it in! The hotel is owned by the Pacha Group who have orchestrated a beautiful low-rise hotel, with delicious menus and cocktails. It’s definitely all about glamming up with the pool life here so hang out and people watch while sipping your daiquiri by the pool til it’s time to get ready and party! Nice!
TIP: Destino also hosts some of Pacha’s main night pre-parties, Music On has just moved to Pacha this year so 2019 might see some outside tech events at Destino! Fingers and toes crossed!!

💛💛💛

#6 Sol House - San Antonio Bay

Sol House is another fairly large hotel in comparison to others mentioned in this article but it’s worth a mention as we’d say is the best place to stay in the San An Bay area based on it’s location (on the beach!), affordability and the amazing roof top pool areas, this is definitely not a boutique hotel but its got some pretty kooky décor, and a selection of 4 pools to choose from so plenty of room for soaking in some vitamin C! You will find this one on hotel comparison sites so if you’re after a bargain stay with plenty of good stuff thrown in this is worth checking out!

💛💛💛

#7 Santos  - Playa d’en Bossa

The Turquoise beauty on Playa d’en Bossa beach! Santos is the place for Ibiza hipsters who like their hotels to match the colour of the sea! Uber Chic with vintage touches, this adult only concept hotel is luxurious but also great fun. Located right on the beach with events scheduled all week your stay will be fully charged with yoga in the morning followed by pool parties in the afternoons. There is always something going on here. The awesome concierge team can arrange all your reservations for you from restaurant bookings to boat charters. Great cocktails, super-slick rooms with their own bars and a great pool vibe – what more can you want?

💛💛💛

#8 MIM Es Vive - Figueretas

If you’re looking for sophistication coupled with impeccable service then maybe you should check out Es Vive. The like minded discerning party people that make up the hotels clientele come back year after year to sup in the poolside lifestyle and the awesome rooftop bar (yes another awesome rooftop bar!).
This beautiful art deco hotel used to be notorious in the nineties when it played host to the Hed Kandi party crew, now it plays to a more chilled vibe with an even more glamorous ambiance.
Es Vive's location close to Ibiza town is perfect for the sophisticated party people who stay there. Only 50metres from Es Figueretas beach, it is also just 10 minutes to the neighboring resort of Playa d'en Bossa. This hotel has a unique vibe of it's own which is always special to come back to. We highly recommend!

Agrotourismo Stays:

So what is Agrotourismo you ask? Well in a nutshell it consists of beautiful country villas set a little off the beaten track, offering a more eco friendly, personal and relaxed take on the Ibiza dream.
There are a number of beautiful hotels on the island that come under this category but here are our favourite 2:

#9 Atzaro – San Lorenzo

Atzaro is definitely one of our favourite places to stay, in the heart of Ibiza’s lush countryside in the middle of the Island it is a world away from the hub hub of the big clubs and crowds. The menus here are worth paying a visit for alone! Super-fresh ingredients mostly sourced from their own garden and farm or local produced.
The outside space is just as beautiful and as detailed as the individually styled rooms, the beds here are probably the comfiest we've slept in! If you need to relax, chill and be looked after - this is the place for you! Don’t forget to make time for the spa - the treatments are first class especially the hot stone massage – simply divine!
This stunning hotel is open all year round and hosts some great events throughout the year including family markets and open air cinema’s in the winter to yoga retreats in the summer. We have often stayed here in the winter and cozied up by the fire with a book, don’t be surprised if you are joined by one of the hotels many pets!
If you fancy a chilled stay in Ibiza then spoil yourself and go to Atzaro – you won’t regret it!

💛💛💛

#10 Can Curreu – San Carlos

This beautiful villa boasts to be Ibiza’s very first spa hotel, and what an exceptional spa it is! Facilities include a heated indoor pool, whirlpools, waterfalls and cascades. You’ll also find sensation showers, steam rooms and sauna, heated loungers and a cold plunge pool, plus there’s a treatment area offering all manner of massages, and a hair salon. Additionally there are stables located onsite so it you fancy saddling up the staff here will arrange it.
Located in San Carlos - one of Ibiza’s most bohemian villages with a vibe firmly rooted in the ‘60s - the hotel’s idyllic countryside location means it’s encompassed by a bounty of lush gardens and beautiful scenery. San Carlos, a five-minute drive away, is something of a cultural hub, and consequently is home to many boutiques and restaurants. The famous Las Dalias hippy market is one of our favourite places to go hang out (the shopping is not bad either!) and is only a short five-minute walk away, and an array of impressive beaches can be found within a 10-15 minute drive while Ibiza Town can be reached by car within 25 minutes.
